1. Head to Oktoberfest South London
OK, so jumping on a plane to Munich might not be so easy this year. But fear not, because Oktoberfest is coming to London for three Sundays in October 2021, and it sounds absolutely brilliant. After skipping a year due to the pandemic, the event is back at Electric Brixton on October 2, 16 and 23. There will be live comedy, brass bands, and DJs, not to mention the all-important beer and bratwursts. Glass steins and lederhosen at the ready for this one.

Fancy seeing nest year's sporting action up-close? Then you need to be really, really quick. The ballot for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is now open, but it closes at 8pm on September 30. After that point tickets will be allocated based on what's been applied for, so there will still be tickets available but it'll be a case of what's left. So submit your application ASAP - there are 286 sessions of sport to choose from, and tickets start from just £22.
